BOARD NEWS
STREET
PARKING
Various newsletter
articles have been previously written about parking vehicles on the
street. This practice does not reflect well on the community as a
whole and it is also dangerous. When we receive the monthly
Security Report, it typically has a number of automobile vandalism
cases. In most cases, the vehicle was parked on the street and
was easy prey for vandals. When cars are parked in the garage,
where they belong, or in the driveways, the chances of vandalism
decreases substantially. A vehicle parked in the street might
just as well have a sign stating, “Please vandalism me”! Its
unfortunate that this should be the case, but it’s a fact of life.
Our streets were not designed for vehicles to be parked on the
street. Our homes all have either two or three car garages.
We realize that many garages are filled with junk and therefore no room
for automobiles. Perhaps everyone needs to take a look at making
room in the garage for their vehicles!! Many families have three
or more cars but between the garage and the driveways, there should be
adequate space for at least four vehicles.
Do yourself and your neighbors a favor by NOT parking your vehicles in
the street. If you do so and your vehicle is broken into or
vandalized, you are partially at fault!

Vice President
and Legal Liaison NO DUES INCREASE FOR 2008 The
board of directors at the last monthly meeting voted to keep the annual
homeowner dues at the current rate. It should be noted that your
association has not increased the dues in many years. The dues for the
last year has gone to providing additional security in the form of 4
Harris County Constables, for improvements to our park on Rennie, for
repairs to alleys in the front sections of Nottingham, for improvements
to our entrance markers, for landscape mowing and improvements, and for
the contract cost for our service company. The security cost for the
additional constables is almost 50% of the total dues and this cost is
expected to remain constant for the future. If you would like to know
more about where your annual dues go, please visit our website at
www.nottinghamcountry.org where you can view our current budget. Bob Wills Treasurer
NOTTINGHAM COUNTRY - HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS
As this issue is being received we will have given our “thanks” over
Thanksgiving, ate turkey and dressing and rolled out those boxes for
the next big celebration!
Now, it is time to begin the Christmas holidays! Nottingham
Country will have Christmas décor galore! Please be sure and watch for
the decorations at the main entrance, as well as other entrances, we
hope they are enjoyed by all. Please send us your thoughts, and if
anyone notices any missing decorations, damaged items, or mischief,
please contact the board.
We all hope to enjoy the decorations for many years to come.
Happy Holidays and many blessings, to you and yours, from all of
us on the board!
Sincerely,
Kim Svetlik, Director/Landscaping
COMMUNITY COMMUNICATION
The
Board is, fortunately, beginning to receive increased correspondence
from homeowners concerning lost pets, suspicious activity, criminal
activity and other issues of interest to the entire community. When we
receive this type of information, it is immediately passed on to Sam
Cresap, our Webmaster, and he posts it on the website,
www.nottinghamcountry.org He also sends out an Eblast to all homeowners
who have provided their email addresses. This is an excellent way to
keep homeowners alerted to important matters and happenings in the
subdivision.
We strongly encourage all homeowners to register their email addresses
with Sam. The addresses will not be sold to an outside source nor will
you receive spam or nuisance emails. At the present time we only have
about 400 registered homeowners receiving these important messages and
it is important that more homeowners be knowledgeable as to happenings
in Nottingham Country.
NCCIA Board of Directors.
PLEASE REPORT SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
The
Board has been receiving emails and other communications about
loitering, suspicious persons and other resident concerns. Upon
investigation, we are discovering that most of these complaints are not
being called into the Constable. While we appreciate the direct
communication, we need residents to call the Constable Dispatch ¬as
soon as possible, preferably while the activity is occurring.
This will be especially important with the increased activity that
accompanies the Holidays. The Constables have been prompt in responding
to calls from Nottingham Country Residents.
PLEASE CONTACT THE CONSTABLE AT 281-463-6666 WHEN ANY SUSPICIOUS OR DISORDERLY CONTACT IS OBSERVED.
The Board wishes everyone a happy and safe holiday season.
