NCCIA BOARD NEWS
Spring Clean-up
Many of our residents have jumped
early to spruce up their yards by trimming trees, shrubbery and
lawns. They have planted colorful flowers, making the
neighborhood very attractive. If you are one of the
procrastinators, please join the majority and help make Nottingham
as attractive as it can be. This is the time of year when houses
go on the market, and an attractive neighborhood will keep our
home values up.
Nottingham Country Park on Rennie.
Heavy rains come with the arrival
of spring. Our park on Rennie has suffered many years from
ponding water on the South side of the park adjacent to the
residents that live on Hampshire Rocks. This created a sloppy
condition for that part of the park including the jogging track.
The water created a health hazard by providing a breading ground
for mosquitoes. In March the association in co-operation with the
Mason Creek Utility District in stalled a storm drain. It begins
near the parking and runs due east to the vicinity of the Utility
District water storage tank, then north to connect to a storm
system manhole. Mason Creek U D participated for about twenty
percent of the cost for the share or work on their property. The
net cost for the Association’s share is less than $61,000.00.
Observations of recent rains have shown the project is performing
and ponding is not happening.
Security
Sergeant Phil Bennett has served
our community for many years along with three deputies from Harris
County Precinct 5 Constable office. He has been given different
responsibilities and is replaced by Sgt. Deborah Potter. We
welcome her to the community and look forward to the continued
fine support for Nottingham Country.
